How Jahin Future-Proofed His Online Academy by Moving Away From WordPress

4 mins read

When you talk to Jahin, you quickly realize one thing: he’s not the type of person who waits for problems to explode before taking action.

“I like to plan ahead,” he said with a smile during our conversation. “Especially when it comes to tools.”

And that mindset shaped the entire journey of how his online Shopify academy found its home on Klasio.

A Bit About Jahin

For the last five years, Jahin has been working with Shopify, building stores, designing landing pages, and helping clients grow.

He also runs JS Ecom Academy with partner Sunny on the side, where they teach Shopify through a 6-course bundle called Shopify Masterclass.

Initially, Jahin used to share Shopify tutorials on YouTube.

Once he began sharing free tutorials, many viewers from Bangladesh reached out to him and kept asking:

“Can you make something like this in Bangla? A full course?”

So he did.

They launched the course in October 2024, and about 225 students joined within a year, completely through organic reach.

“Most of our students are either new freelancers or people thinking of shifting from WordPress to Shopify,” he explained. “And honestly, many of them are getting good results already.”

Starting on WordPress

Unlike many creators who learn the hard way, Jahin already knew that WordPress would have its fair share of issues.

“I used WordPress before. So I knew the common problems: plugin conflicts, updates breaking features, performance issues,” he said. “But at the time, it felt like the most affordable way to start.”

They used TutorLMS for one year. During that time, they faced multiple incidents where:

  • Videos wouldn’t play.
  • Lessons weren’t loading
  • Students faced issues

And everything pointed back to a CMS update or plugin issue

But the most important part?

“It wasn’t terrible. But I knew this wouldn’t scale well.”

This wasn’t a reaction to a major disaster. This was him seeing where things were going.

“If we ever reach 5,000–6,000 students,” he said, “even a small issue could create a huge mess. And that directly affects reputation.”

Looking for Something Steady and Hassle-Free

So the search began for a platform that wouldn’t require constant maintenance.

“I wasn’t looking for the most advanced LMS. I just wanted something stable. Something that doesn’t break because of a random update.”

That’s when he saw a Facebook post about Klasio.

At first, he was skeptical, mainly, because of bad experiences with LTD products disappearing or not delivering promised updates.

“But then I saw Emran involved in it. I’ve known his presence in the developer community for a long time,” he said. “That made me comfortable enough to try it.”

Once he started testing Klasio, the decision became clearer.

Switching Even Before His TutorLMS Subscription Ended

He still had about a month left on TutorLMS, but that didn’t matter.

“Klasio felt easier,” he said. “No dependency on WordPress, no plugin conflicts, no fear about updates breaking something.”

He migrated the course early and didn’t look back.

After the switch:

  • Students faced zero access or playback issues
  • Course creation felt smoother
  • The UI felt clean and simple
  • Support felt faster and more personalized
  • And overall, the workload became lighter

“Most of our students access the course from the web,” he said. “Till now, no one has complained.”

Running the Academy More Comfortably

Jahin now supports his students through Discord, where they get help after enrolling.

“Providing proper support is important in the Bangladeshi market,” he said. “That’s why we’re taking things slowly. We’re testing how far we can go, but without rushing.”

With a stable LMS behind him, he can focus more on teaching, community building, and mentorship instead of firefighting technical issues.

Features He’s Waiting For

Two features matter most to him moving forward:

  • Multi-device login restriction
  • Bundle support (since he sells a 6-course package)

“These will be very helpful for us,” he added.

His Advice to New Course Creators

Jahin’s approach is simple:

“Create value. Build a community. Stay active there.”

He believes practical teaching, like showing a complete project from start to finish, is far more appreciated than purely promotional content.

And for course creators tired of WordPress maintenance?

“If you’re looking for a smoother, more consistent experience, Klasio is definitely a good option. And with the LTD, it’s great value.”

A Future-Ready Decision

For Jahin, Klasio wasn’t an emotional switch or a reaction to chaos. It was a strategic move toward long-term stability.

“I just didn’t want tools to become a bottleneck as we grow,” he said. “Klasio gives us peace of mind. That’s the biggest benefit.”
