How to Create a Discount Coupon for Customers

Ready to launch a new promotion or offer a special deal to your customers? Creating a discount coupon is a straightforward process that allows you to provide immediate value.

Follow this guide to quickly set up and customize discount coupons tailored to your specific marketing campaigns.

Here’s how to create a discount coupon:

1. From the admin dashboard, Go to Sales and click Coupons.

2. Then, click Add New Coupon

3. A form will appear. Enter name, code amount or percent off, start and end date and number of redemptions

4. Then, select the product where the coupon would work.You have the option to make this coupon work on multiple products. So select as many products as you like.

5. After that, enable it for checkout and then hit Save

Now, your coupon is now available for your customers.

Sales Coupon Best Practices

  • Choose the Right Discount Type:
    • For courses under $100, a percentage-based discount works well psychologically.
    • For courses over $100, a fixed-amount discount (e.g., “$50 off”) can feel more substantial.
  • Balance Profit Margins: Carefully calculate your production costs and desired profit margins to ensure discounts are sustainable. Aim to maintain a 30-50% profit margin after discounts.
  • Name Codes Strategically: Use short, memorable coupon names that convey value or timing (e.g., SUMMER25LAUNCH40).
  • Track and Analyze Data: Monitor coupon redemption rates and sales metrics to understand what strategies work best and refine future promotions using data-driven insights.
  • Promote Through Multiple Channels: Distribute codes via email marketing, social media posts, dedicated landing pages, and potentially through affiliates or influencers to maximize visibility.
  • Be Transparent: Clearly state the terms and conditions of each discount to avoid customer confusion and dissatisfaction
