How to Integrate Pabbly Connect with Klasio

Last updated

Pabbly Connect is an automation tool that connects 2,000+ apps like Google Sheets, Slack, WhatsApp, and Mailchimp. You build a workflow once, and it moves data between your apps automatically. No code needed.

With Klasio’s Pabbly Connect integration, you can send Klasio events like enrollments, completions, and certificates to your Pabbly Connect workflows in real time. You can also let Pabbly Connect create students and enroll them in your courses automatically.

There are two ways Klasio and Pabbly Connect can talk to each other:

  • Webhooks (Klasio to Pabbly Connect): Klasio sends course events out to your Pabbly workflows.
  • API tokens (Pabbly Connect to Klasio): Pabbly Connect performs actions in Klasio, like creating or enrolling a student.

You can set up either one or both. Let’s go through the whole process.

Step 01: Open the Pabbly Connect Integration in Klasio

1. Log in to your Klasio admin account. From the dashboard, go to Settings > Integrations.

2. Find the Pabbly Connect integration card and click on its Settings button.

3. A popup will appear with a short guide on how to connect. Each Pabbly workflow gets its own webhook URL, so you will add one webhook per workflow and pick the Klasio events that should trigger it.

From this popup, click on Add Pabbly webhook to start sending events to Pabbly Connect. If you want Pabbly Connect to create or enroll students in Klasio instead, click on Manage API tokens. You can also find both anytime under Settings > API & Webhooks.

Step 02: Send Klasio Events to Pabbly Connect (Webhooks)

4. First, in Pabbly Connect, create a new workflow with a Webhook trigger and copy the URL it generates.

5. Back in Klasio, go to Settings > API & Webhooks. On the Webhooks tab, click on the Add Webhook button. A popup titled Webhook endpoint will appear. Give the webhook a name, for example “Enrollment Notification,” and keep the Destination set to Pabbly Connect. Paste the URL you copied from Pabbly Connect into the Webhook URL field.

6. From the Events to send dropdown, pick the events that should fire this webhook, such as New enrollment in a course or Student completed a course. You can also click on All to select every event. Each event will trigger a POST to your webhook URL with a signed JSON payload.

7. Keep the Active checkbox turned on and click Save. If you ever want to pause the webhook without deleting it, just uncheck Active. Now, let’s test it.

8. In Pabbly Connect, click on Recapture Webhook Response. Then trigger the event in Klasio, for example by enrolling a student in a course.  If everything is set up correctly, Pabbly Connect will show the response it received from Klasio.

With this, Klasio will now send your chosen events to Pabbly Connect in real time.

Step 03: Let Pabbly Connect Create and Enroll Students in Klasio (API Tokens)

9. Go to Settings > API & Webhooks and open the API Tokens tab. Then click on the Create Token button.

10. A popup titled Create API Token will appear.

11. Give the token a name, for example “Pabbly Connect.” Under Allowed actions, choose what this token can do. Click on Full access to allow everything, or Read only for read-only access. You can also open the dropdown and select individual actions, like Create Student and Enroll Student.

12. Set an expiry in days if you want the token to expire automatically, or leave the field blank for no expiry.

13. Click on Create token and copy the token right away. For security reasons, it is shown only once. If you lose it, you will need to create a new one.

14. Now, move to your Pabbly Connect dashboard. In your workflow, add an action step for Klasio and paste the token to connect your account.

Once the connection is created, you can use actions like Create Student and Enroll Student.

15. The Enroll Student action needs the student’s email and the course title. If the course is a live cohort course, you will also need to provide the cohort.

With this, we have completed the setup on both sides.

See the Integration in Action

Now, let’s see how it works.

When a student enrolls in one of your courses, Klasio instantly sends the event to your Pabbly Connect webhook. From there, your workflow can send a WhatsApp message, update your CRM, add the student to an email sequence, or reach any of the other apps Pabbly Connect supports.

In the other direction, when your Pabbly Connect workflow runs the Create Student and Enroll Student actions, the new student appears in your academy and gets enrolled in the course automatically. You can confirm it by opening the course and checking its student list.
